My relationship with The Juan Maclean began at the band's inception in 2002.  For Juan's 2014 release the directive was to shift the focus from front-man John Maclean to vocalist and collaborator Nancy Whang. A stylized bust was sculpted as a talisman for Maclean, coupled with Whang's distant and mechanical​ presence the imagery perfectly evokes my shared vision with Maclean of a dystopic, sterile and chilly vision of the future.
